I am a fashion, beauty, travel, and lifestyle blogger based out of Nashville, TN! I love sharing my favorite looks, beauty tips, and travel guides! Read more below!
I have been asked to post about postpartum weight loss for a while now. This is probably my most requested blog post. I think every pregnancy and postpartum weight journey is different. I don’t want you to feel discouraged by me and my weight loss. I have struggled with my weight and my self-image for years.
*Because I am not a medical professional, I do not recommend any of these tips without you first consulting your doctor.*
Pregnancy: I didn’t gain a lot of weight while I was pregnant. I only gained 25 pounds while I was pregnant with Annslee Kate. I didn’t eat unless I was hungry, I made healthy food choices, and I didn’t have any crazy high-calorie cravings. Because I didn’t gain a lot of weight pregnant, there was less for me to work off postpartum.
Breastfeeding: This is different for everyone as far as weight loss. I did lose a lot of weight breastfeeding. Breastfeeding helps to tighten/contract your uterus therefor tightening your postpartum belly.
Intermittent fasting: Chris and I started this 3 weeks ago and so far I am really loving the results. I don’t eat from 8 o clock at night until 1 the next day. My husband has lost a lot more weight than me. Guys always do! Read more about intermittent fasting here.
Intuitive Eating: I practice this method of eating when I am hungry and stopping when I am full. Going out to eat can be hard because there is so much food in front of you. Try to split a meal with someone and you will not eat as much. For more info on intuitive eating read here
Bedtime: Don’t eat a lot before bedtime. This is the worst time for you to pack on the calories. I try not to eat before 8:00. This is where intermittent fasting comes into play.
Excercise: I love the sweat app! I also go for long walks with the fam, and I never sit on the couch and watch t.v. I actually never watch tv unless I am falling asleep. It’s because all of my free time is spent on my blog. I read a great book and it that said you can chase your dreams by not wasting time in front of the T.V. When I am taking a break from my blog I sit and read. I research and develop new skills and tips constantly.
Running: Find a great running/jogging/workout buddy. Chris used to be my running/workout buddy when we just had Grayson. Now that we have two kids we have to go at different times.
Don’t read this post and be discouraged of my weight loss. My weight is something that I constantly watch because I am taking pictures every day. I have struggled with an eating disorder for years so this is the way I can keep it under control. I think the best way to lose weight is to eat healthy and exercise. I am not dieting because this is now my lifestyle and when you make it a lifestyle you can keep it off.
Remember to love yourself and your journey. If you need some encouragement on self-love read my latest blog post here.
Happy Sunday Loves!
P.S. Remember that I think you are amazing no matter what size you are! 😉
