I am a fashion, beauty, travel, and lifestyle blogger based out of Nashville, TN! I love sharing my favorite looks, beauty tips, and travel guides! Read more below!
I know we are all pretty much over this quarantine but I decided to stay busy and make lemonade outta lemons! I put together a post on how to stay busy and not get bored while being at home. You guys know that I am a true extrovert to the core but I have actually started turning into a homebody ever since we bought the house. I just really like being home. I don’t know if I like being home this much though. 😛 But staying positive is the best thing we can do!
Read Self Development Books
Being an enneagram 3, I love self-development books! I always like to write notes while I read them so that I can actually use the tips that I study. Here is a list of some of my favorites:
Journal Bible– I love my journal bible. I can write notes in there while I study! (The one I linked is similar)
Big Magic– This book is for the creative at heart and that is sick of working a 9-5 corporate job and ready to chase some big dreams! If you love creating art then this book is for you!
What if it does work out?– How a side hustle can change your life. This book is all about starting your side hustle and actually turning it into a full-time business. She taught me how to stop watching t.v. and honestly, I have never turned back. I probably watch about 1 hour of t.v. a week. Starting this blog really has changed my life for the better and this book is where it all got started!
Rising Above a Toxic Workplace– Being a culture director, I read this book because I like getting tips on how to improve the workplace. It gives you great tips if you are trying to improve your workplace culture, you are a boss and you want to be a better leader, or you are trying to manage up with your boss!
Culture Code– If you work in a team or you own your own business and you want to increase employee engagement then this book is definitely for you. It’s not great for only your team at work but I use some of these tips to help build trust and teamwork in my family. You can buy the summary here.
Drink warm water with lemon- helps your immune system and speeds up your metabolism.
Wash your face with my favorite face wash from Tula and use your jade roller!
Take a nap with your kids.
Exercise, Eat Healthy, and Take Vitamins
Exercise will dramatically reduce your anxiety and keep you productive! We need a little bit of both right now if you ask me! lol.
Sweat app has been a favorite of mine for years because you can do all the workouts at home. My favorite for a high-intensity workout is the BBG program and I love the YOGA classes on there are well. It’s $20 but well worth it!
Take your dog for a walk and get some fresh air so that you can get Vitamin D. Vitamin D helps your immune system.
Make a huge bowl of fruit, drink protein shakes after workouts, and we have been eating cutie oranges like crazy to help boost our immune system.
Spend Some Quality Time With Your Partner
Watch a movie together after you put the babies down for a nap or for bed. We have been watching all the marvel movies on Disney +.
Hold Hands and cuddle. Touch is so important for your bond. By human nature, it brings us closer together.
Take a bubble bath together.
Work on a DIY project together like painting a wall or cleaning out the garage. It isn’t super fun but you will be so happy when it’s done.
Do a POWER CLEAN. Both of you play music and just get to work and do some house chores. Wiping Down counters and handles are super important right now so you can prevent the virus from staying on surfaces in your home.
Work out together! Endorphines make you happy and more attracted to each other!
Fun Ideas for the Kids
Pop popcorn, build a fort and watch and movie under all the blankets and pillows!
Download some new games on their i-pad- Math Ninja, Stack the Countries, Oregon trail, Mad Libs, and Candy Crush are some of our favorites!
Read Books
Color and craft time
Bake Cookies Together
Bouncy House- This bouncy house has saved us! It’s an investment but it has saved us so much money in the long run!
Play Hangman
Play outside and go for a walk at least twice a day!
I hope these tips help combat the quarantine blues! Don’t forget to pray as a family, wash hands before dinner, and keep positive thoughts through the storm.
