If you are looking for a quiet charming town with a mix of country and beach then this is your spot. Long Island, New York, is known for its wineries, casual culinary, and beautiful beaches. The really neat part is that you can take a 2-hour and 20-minute direct flight to Islip from Nashville. Islip, New York is only an hour away from Greenport, Long Island, making it a perfect weekend getaway.
Love Lane Kitchen– This super cute restaurant had some of the best customer service. Not only are they friendly but the brunch is so amazing there.
The Frisky Oyster– I still cannot stop thinking about their asparagus soup. Make sure you order a strawberry jalapeno margarita because it was amazing. The lobster pasta and truffle fries were out of this world.
Claudios Waterfront– make sure you order the mudslide because it was so amazing. They have live music on the weekends there! They are known for the lobster roll and it was so delicious.
Bruce and Son– brunch is so amazing there and in the middle of town. We couldn’t get over the aesthetic and the mimosa was so refreshing!
Where to Stay
We stayed at The Menhaden and we had an amazing experience there. I really loved waking up in the morning and grabbing complimentary coffee and snacks from the galley. They have a little coffee shop, restaurant, rooftop, and electric moke car that you can use to explore the city! I also love bicycles and little tables out front! The staff was very warm and welcoming.
What to Do
Go to the beach- we went to 67 steps and it is a rocky beach but so beautiful. They have sandy beaches as well.

Tips for Your Trip
June, July, and August are some of the best months to visit.
Bring a jacket- it gets chilly at night
Rent a car- you need a car to be able to visit all the wineries and venues.
Bring comfortable shoes- you won’t do a ton of walking, it’s more lounging but we did take several strolls around Greenport. It’s so fun walking around there.
Long Island is similar to the Hamptons but a more laid-back blue-collar vibe. It has a country feel and the people are so nice. If you are looking for a trip with your significant other or girlfriends then you should definitely book a trip with Discover Long island!
