What is mom stress you might ask? MOM stress is this pain and anxiety that comes over you when you literally have too much stuff to do. I remember being on maternity leave when Annslee Kate was screaming for a bottle, I needed to pump, and Grayson wanted a salad that I needed to prepare. How could I possible do all of this at once? I started to freak out hard core. I even called Chris crying.
This blog post will help you stay clam and provide you with tricks and tips I use everyday to help myself become more calm.
BREATHE- just take a second and breathe. IT will all be okay and just remember that you gave life to a baby or maybe mutiple babies. YOU ARE AN AMAZING SUPER WOMAN. So take all that in and let it all out in a deep breath.
Live in the now- Stop worrying about what all you need to get done today, tomorrow, next week, and next month. Just focus on what you need to get done at that time and in that moment. Stop worrying about your future because it can overwhelm you. Remember when people say, “take one step at a time.” Well do that.
Have your kids help you. Grayson is learning chores. I am not going to do everything for him because I want to make sure that he learns to fend for himself. But seriously, if your kids are getting to the age where they can help, then have them help.
Here is a list of chores that Grayson does around the house, Grayson is almost 4:
Picks up toys
Undresses himself
Dresses himself
Makes his bed
Grabs his snacks and drinks from the fridge (make sure they are at toddler level).
Throws away all of his trash
Takes his dishes to the sink
Gets sister’s paci and will place it in her mouth.
He will get sister’s burp cloths for me 🙂
Washes his hands.
Wipes his mouth with  baby wipes
Make a honey do list.
Do you want to ask your husband to help you with things around the house but you don’t want to come off as being bossy? Then make him a sweet little list and give him a treat when he finishes it. Whether that is his favorite chocolate, buying him a 6 pack of beer, or cooking him his favorite meal.
Get in some exercise and take the kids/dog outside for a walk.
Sometimes it calms me to just go outside with nature and to not think of what all needs to be done in the house.
Use Peace and Calm Doterra Esstential Oils.
I live with my peace and calm roller balls.
LAUGH
Watch your toddler or baby for 5 minutes and I guarantee they will do something funny that makes you laugh. My babies do for sure. I seriously bust out laughing just talking to Grayson. He says the funniest things.
Sit your phone down and have fun with your babies.
Yesterday I came home from work, I left my house in a mess, and swam in our pool. The house needed to be cleaned, I needed to cook, and I had laundry. I want to be clean and OCD just like all the other moms but sometimes I know my limits. When it’s towards the end of the week, I just want to relax and have fun.
At the end of the day, are your kids going going to grow up and say, ” Mommy always folded towels when they came straight out of the dryer,” or are they going to say, “my mom use to take me fishing or swim in the pool on Thursday nights or camp in the backyard and count the stars?”
Making memories with your precious little humans is  THE ultimate goal! Live in the now, put your phone down, get dirty, teach them something, teach them to be kind, and LOVE them with every inch of your heart!
Happy Tuesday Friends! I hope you have a great week!
