This weekend was so eventful for Chris and I. Friday night we attended a couple’s shower for my friend Allison and Saturday night we attended Dancing with Our Stars. Dancing with Our Stars was hosted by the American Cancer Society. If you didn’t know, my mother has battled breast cancer three times so this cause was near and dear to my heart.

A few weeks ago I wanted to find the perfect gown for this event and I know some friends that have tried rent the runway. I decided to give it a try. SPOILER ALERT: Rent the Runway is amazing. I am going to break down how it works, what I like, what I don’t like, and how much I spent. This is not a sponsored post, I just wanted to spread the news in case you have never heard of it.

What is Rent the Runway? Rent the Runway is a service that allows you to rent gowns, dresses, and other high name brand clothing for a fraction of the cost. You rent the items for 4 days, they ship it to your house, and then you send the items back after your event.

How much does Rent the Runway cost? Well, this really just depends on what you pick out.They can be anywhere from $30 to $200 an item. I ordered 2 dresses and a pair of earrings. One dress for the shower, one dress for Dancing with our Stars, and a pair of Kate Spade earrings for $179. This might seem like a lot but my red gown was valued at $660 retail and I wouldn’t get that kind of use out of it. I hate to say it but once I wear a special dress like this I don’t wear it again for years or maybe not at all.

What is the best part about Rent the Runway? I loved reading the reviews and seeing other women that are my same size and height. I picked out a 4 P and it wasn’t too long and it wasn’t too short. The reviews are very addicting because you want to see what everyone said. I made a mistake and didn’t read the reviews on the pink dress I ordered and I ended up having to wear the dress backwards because I hated the front of it. It’s a funny story but it worked like a charm.

What do you not like about Rent the Runway? Even though you get to pick out the same dress in 2 different sizes, there is still a slim chance that the dress doesn’t work. I also didn’t like their selection of short dresses. I wish they had shorter cocktail dresses in their selection because I felt like everything was going to be midi length on me. I was hoping to find a dress above the knee but I did really love the midi length. Midi length will make any girl look classy. I got compliments all night.

What is Rent the Runway Unlimited? Rent the Runway Unlimited allows you to have 4 items at a time and you can switch them out as many times as you want! This is amazing if you love getting new outfits all the time. Even their casual items are great. They have big main brands like Tory Burch, Kate Spade, Lily Pulitzer, and more. It is $100 a month but I think it would be worth it for me.
