One of the shortest girls in the room visited one of the biggest cities in the world. I have dreamed about New York Fashion Week since I was a little girl. Being a blogger, I feel like I am living out my own version of Carrie Bradshaw.

So, I got a few questions about New York Fashion Week and why bloggers go. Bloggers visit New York Fashion Week to capture content, to see the trends for fall and spring, to network with brands and other bloggers and to have fun! Two weeks leading up to the trip is a ton of work. It involves planning content and emailing brands/pr firms non–stop.

One great thing about the networking I do with my blogger friends is that we share contacts and we also bring each other to events. So if Hannah got into a showroom event or fashion show she would add me and visa-versa.

We arrived in New York City on Thursday afternoon and came back Sunday! The fall is the perfect time to go to New York City. The weather was magical and it was so nice eating brunch outside. I have also heard that Christmas in New York City is magical. A weekend in New York City is plenty of time in my opinion and I can help you hit the big spots.

Let’s start with my biggest tips on how to survive New York City!

• Ubers, Lyfts, and Cabs are expensive. Budget accordingly because I spent $250 dollars for 3 days and that is with me walking a ton. Try learning the subway if you can.. we didn’t have time to figure it out but I wish we did. Google Maps can help you with the subway. We would walk a ton because it doesn’t save any time to actually ride a cab.. it just saves your feet.
• Bring flats whoever you go. A cute backpack is always a great idea if you want to wear flats while you are walking around town and then slip into your heels when you are going to nice events/attractions.
• Don’t eat at a chain restaurant. You visit new york because of the food so you have to try new things! We ate the Cookshop and the Westin and it was absolutely amazing!
• Bring a portable charger. This is a travel staple but you will be snapping so many photos that you will need it!
• Bring money to shop. Can you say four story Macy’s or Forever 21? There are so many great places to shop so budget accordingly. If you ever going to buy a designer purse then New York City is the place to do it.

Top Places to See in New York City

Brooklyn Bridge is always a must and we went early in the morning so the lighting wasn’t too harsh for pictures.  Since 1883, the steel suspension bridge—an engineering marvel—has soared above the East River, connecting lower Manhattan and Brooklyn. Every day, a blur of cars, bicycles, and feet traverse the 6,000-foot span while taking in unrivaled views of the city as well as Lady Liberty.

You have to experience Time Square at night but don’t spend all your time there! It’s one of those places that you need to go to on your first night in New York City and I was so amazed with all the culture there. My t-shirt was only $5 on the corner. lol If you want a great burger and fries try shake shack!

Chelsea is a must! You have to get a picture at the brown stone steps! Chelsea has more than 200 art galleries as well as Chelsea Market, filled with upscale food purveyors, restaurants and shops.

The high line is so magical at night! The High Line is a public park built on a historic freight rail line elevated above the streets on Manhattan’s West Side. Saved from demolition by neighborhood residents and the City of New York, the High Line opened in 2009 as a hybrid public space where visitors experience nature, art, and design.

You know we had to take a short trip to Central Park. I wish we could stay here longer but we definitely got a picture on the infamous steps! Central Park is the biggest most important park in New York City and it’s so magical in the fall.

We stayed at Innside New York Hotel and it was perfect hotel stay.
