Fall is our favorite time of year. There is something about the cool crisp air and pumpkin spice everything. Every year I make a fall family bucket list and I try to accomplish all of the things because fall is so fun. I thought this list would be great to share if you are looking for some fun things to do with your family on the weekends.

Take the Family to the Pumpkin Patch.

This is a no brainier and most of you go to the pumpkin patch at least once a year but maybe you need to know which ones to go to (if you live in TN) or you need some tips for the patch.

Our favorite middle TN pumpkin patches are Lucky Ladd’s Farm and Gentry Farm. Lucky Ladd’s is located 15 minutes outside of Murfreesboro and Gentry farm is in Franklin.

My biggest tips for the pumpkin patch are to make sure you apply sunblock, bring cash to buy pumpkins, wear comfortable shoes for you a little ones, and bring a wagon! We love our wagon and it’s easy to cart your little ones and pumpkins in there.

Attend Boo at the Zoo or another Fall Festival Event.

Every year we dress up in Halloween costumes and attend Boo at the Nashville Zoo. They decorate the entire zoo in halloween decor and the kids get to trick or treat place to place. There are spooky hay rides, fun carnival games, a fire pit to make smores, and much more. Even though the animals are asleep, it is truly a magical experience. If you don’t live in Nashville, TN and you are looking for fun events for the family always check facebook! I just click events near me and I can find the best places to take the kids and some are even free!

Paint/Carve Pumpkins.

Pumpkin painting might be a little easier than carving for your little ones. Grayson and I had to decorate one of his pumpkins for a school project. We decorated his pumpkin after his favorite Halloween book. All you need is paint, markers (if you don’t want to get as messy as paint), stickers, pipe cleaners, felt, and hot glue.

Watch the Nightmare Before Christmas.

This movie could be scary for kiddos under 5. Last Friday night we made a big bowl of popcorn and watched the Nightmare Before Christmas on the couch. Now my kids ask to watch it all the time. It is a family tradition for sure!

Watch or Attend a Football Game.

We love taking Grayson to see the Tennessee Titans at least once a year. I mean what is fall without football? I try to watch football just for an hour or two to make my husband happy. I know I can’t stand it but he likes it and I think it’s nice to try to take interest in things he likes.

Host or Attend a Halloween Party.

Normally every year Chris and I get a mommy daddy date night and host a Halloween party! This year I am going to a Groovy Halloween party where we will all dress like the 70s! We like to plan parties with the neighborhood as well. You don’t have to do anything big.. just invite a couple of your close family and friends for a get together! Decorate Your House and Front Porch.

I am not done decorating for fall but my favorite places to shop are Amazon, Hobby Lobby, TJ Maxx Home Goods, and Target. I actually plan on getting more things this week. Our entire front porch is decorated like Halloween. Our neighborhood has gone all out this year and its so fun!

Hire a Photographer and Take Family Photos.

Every year we take photos in the cotton field. It’s located across the street from my brother’s house! I love shooting my fall family session in red because you can use the photos for your Christmas card. It is always nice to be ahead of the game when it comes to Christmas! Go Apple Picking.

Gatlinburg is the place to visit during the fall. We saw these cute little trees right next to the Apple barn! I highly recommend the Apple Barn if you ever visit Gatlinburg. The service is out of the this world and the home cooked country food is always top notch. Whether you enjoy breakfast food or good meat and three’s, this is your place.

• Decorate your fire place.
• Read fall themed books to the kids before bed.
• Buy Halloween pajamas for the kids.
• Buy Halloween outfits for the kids.
