Hi Guys! I am super excited to collaborate with SoundWaves on this post. A lot of people might not know this but our honeymoon was at Gaylord Opryland Resort. Being Nashville locals, we will always have a special spot in our hearts for this magical Nashville venue. Given the opportunity to collaborate with them is an actual dream come true. This weekend we planned a little staycation at SoundWaves at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and I wanted to do a very detailed review on what to expect when you plan your next trip here!

What does your family love most about SoundWaves?

The water slides are pretty amazing and there is fun for ALL ages. There are kiddie areas for babies, bigger water attractions for kids, and amazing water slides for adults. There is even an adult-only pool if you are looking for a little adult time. I love how you can just show up with a small bag because they provide chairs, beach towels, and life jackets for everyone.

Do you have a discount code?

Do you have to stay at the hotel to visit Soundwaves?

YES! According to the SoundWaves website, “the only guaranteed access to the water attraction is reserving the SoundWaves Water Experience package. Day passes may be offered based on availability to other overnight hotel guests on a limited, first-come, first-served basis; guests may check availability at the SoundWaves magnolia desk during their stay or via a link in your personal pre-arrival email if you are booked directly with the resort.”

They do this to keep the crowd levels low, which is a great thing right now during COVID-19, and it makes the entire experience feel like a vacation. I suggest visiting all their great amenities here at the resort. Have you ever walked through Gaylord Opryland Resort? It’s pretty magical!

Can you make a list of your favorite SoundWaves attractions?

• Down-Tempo Lazy River– It’s our favorite because they have single and double tubes! Great for the entire family!
• Rock’N Racer– With four lanes, riders race each other through tight 360 degree loops to see who finishes first. A leader board at the bottom shows who won. 42″ height requirement. *Grayson was tall enough for this ride.
• Tidal Track Wave Pool– has a huge T.V. screen and plays music while you ride the waves! The entire family loved this attraction. *Arrive early to get a beach chair!
• Bass Drop– This extreme high-speed, open-flume body ride is a six-story free-fall into six inches of water! 48″ height requirement * Chris loved this ride! Chris said the floor literally drops and you go straight down!

How is the experience with COVID-19?

They have new procedures and policies in place to help protect you and your family during COVID-19. For example, they sanitize every floating device after you get off a ride and their employees are wearing masks. For more information on their new policies click this link here.

Is the cabana worth the cost?

Absolutely! The cabana is full service so you have someone waiting on you and taking your drink and food orders. It was a game-changer for us because Annie Kate could take a nap while the boys were on the water slides. If you have little ones that need naps then I definitely suggest getting one so that you don’t have to cart everything back up to your room. There is a T.V., lounge chairs, a fully stocked fridge with water and soft drinks, and a little safe to keep your things secure. I loved the curtains for quiet time and privacy!

How is the food at SoundWaves?

It’s really good!! I ordered an Asian Kale salad and Chris had BBQ nachos! The kids got a cheese pizza and they loved it! You have to order the truffle fries! They were ridiculously good! There is a little gelato breakfast spot right before you get to SoundWaves that have a ton of great breakfast items.

What are your favorite amenities at the Gaylord Opryland Resort?

• Relache Spa- I suggest a destressing massage!
• Delta River Boat Cruise- it’s a super cute boat ride through the resort. We loved the FISH!
• Game Arcade- located in the Cascades!
