The seasons are beginning to change, so that means it’s time to prepare your home for spring. Spring is one of my absolute favorite seasons! The flowers are starting to bloom and warm weather coming our way.
I love adding fresh and pretty things to the home to have it ready for when family or guests come over. The home is where the heart is, right? I don’t know about you, but I feel so happy to be home. I love sipping coffee in the morning with my sweet pup by my side. Working out in the gym, taking a bubble bath, gardening in the yard and cooking in the kitchen are all very comforting. I have teamed up with Hoffman Brothers Nashville to give you 4 simple ways to easily prepare your home for spring.
One easy way to brighten up your home quickly is by adding some flowers! Adding some fresh or artificial flowers in a colorful vase can give your home a spring look. I love going to the square on the weekends to buy fresh flowers for my kitchen table. I feel like it really gives our home a quick spring update. Not to mention, they make my house smell amazing!
I love taking teapots, ginger jars, and different items out of the cabinet and placing them all through the house. It just gives the home a little pop of color that it needs. I also like the variety they give throughout my home.
Don’t worry, I have killed my fair share of plants too. Pothos plants are very beginner-friendly. They are one plant that takes a lot to kill. I have several of these in my home, and it helps to purify the air. Any live plant helps increase the oxygen levels in your home.
Another great live plant to add to your home is aloe vera. This plant purifies the air of formaldehyde and benzene – two chemicals commonly found in household cleaning products – and has amazing healing properties too. You don’t know how many times having an aloe plant in our home has saved the day. From sunburns to cut, using fresh aloe is the best!
Now that the days are getting longer and the sun is shining brighter, you will be opening the blinds to let all the natural light into your home. One way I always prepare my home for spring is by cleaning my windows! Don’t just clean them from the inside, but also from the outside as well.
Use an O Cedar Spin Mop to easily clean the outside of your windows. All you need is a small amount of Dawn soap and warm water to easily remove the dirt and debris. After you have scrubbed your window with your mop, simply rinse it off with your water hose. This will leave your windows nice and clean without all the work and quickly prepare your home for spring!
Don’t forget to change out your air filter once every 2 months. Changing your air filter regularly helps filter out dust and other particles in your air. This is a must for when you are starting to prepare your home for spring. It’s also helping cut down on seasonal allergies, which we all know about living here in Tennessee.
We love using Hoffman Brothers Nashville for all of our HVAC needs. We get an HVAC tune-up every six months before a big season change. In order to keep your home fresh and running properly, you need to make sure your HVAC doesn’t have any issues. Can you imagine going all summer without air conditioning?
