Hi Everyone!
Chris and I have cut back on the toys and started spending money on experiences. That means when the kids have birthdays or Christmas we buy them tickets to attractions. Are they going to get presents from Santa? Of course they are, but only a 3 or 4.
I want Grayson and Annie Kate to remember the places we go together as a family because in all reality they are not going to remember all the toys we bought them. We want to spend money on memories instead of things.
What better way to make memories but in our own hometown of Nashville. Christmas in Nashville is pretty magical for families and couples. I put together a fun blog post on all the activities that you have to do if you live here or ever come for a visit. Most of these are family activities but they would be fun for a date night too!! 🙂
Opryland Hotel: This hotel is filled with so many amazing lights. It’s so fun to walk through and see everything. They have some of the best restaurants, shops, and attractions inside the resort. Everyone all over the world come to see this magical place on Christmas. Waking up and seeing all the lights on the balcony was a dream!
Sound Waves at the Opryland Hotel- This is such an amazing attraction for all ages. You have to stay at the hotel to go to the indoor waterpark but that is so they can keep the crowd level down. I love how you can go up and down all the water slides as much as you want without waiting in line. The have a baby section, a bigger kid section, and even a section for adults. They also have a restaurant inside the water park that is so good and indoor cabanas that you can rent out.
Grayson cried when I told him we had to go so that was a pretty good sign he absolutely loved it! Is this attraction a little pricey? Yes, because you have to stay at the hotel too. But, you can book a birthday party here and it might save you a little money. This would be a great Christmas present idea because you guys could get away for a staycation. Purchase your tickets and look up packages here.
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer the Musical at The Grand Ole Opry: I was worried that Annie-Kate wasn’t going to love sitting and watching a show but she loved it! They make it is interactive with the kids and the music was amazing. I have a special discount code. You can use PC19 to receive 10% off your tickets. Purchase your tickets here.
ICE!– ICE! is this indoor facility filled with huge sculptures of ICE. They give you a parka to wear because it’s super cold. Make sure you bring hats, gloves, etc. The theme this year was the Christmas Story. The kids slide down a huge slide made of ice. At the end of the show you can decorate cookies, shop at the gift shop, and meet the gingerbread man. Purchase your tickets here.
Glow Nashville– Glow Nashville is one of our new favorite holiday traditions. When you walk in the kids said “wow” for at least 10 minutes. I loved their Santa set up. So you wait indoors at “Santa’s Workshop” and while you are waiting in line for Santa the elves are singing and dancing. The Reindeer run tube park is hard for a little ones because they do not weigh enough to really go down. They also have an ice skating rink but you have to reserve a certain time slot, you can’t just go whenever you want. Make sure you hit this spot first and reserve your time. The mistletoe cafe is an indoor concession stand that plays Christmas movies. They also have heated igloos, a bar for adults, and Mrs. Claus bakery where you can get cookies. The family absolutely loved it and it’s worth the price at around $30 for adults and $20 for children. Purchase your tickets here.
Jurassic World Live Tour at Bridgestone Arena– With film-accurate, life-sized dinosaurs, pulse-pounding stunts and an original, authentic storyline, this show is guaranteed to make memories that will last another 65 million years. If this is anything like Disney on Ice then I know the Schwartz family is going to have so much fun! The show starts December 19th so make sure to get your tickets before they sell out! Click here to purchase tickets.
Outdoor Ice Skating at Ascend Amphitheater: This ice skating Rink is outside and small but super fun! Click here for tickets.
Santa at Green Hills Mall. So the Santa set up here is amazing. Grayson got a ticket for flight academy and then he picked an elf and got to play in the snow. Just make sure you come right when they open because we waited in line for 3 hours.
Cheekwood. Cheekwood is a botanical garden that places lights everywhere for Christmas time. The tickets are kinda pricey. If you want the Holiday kit you have to go to Cheekwood and pick up the tickets in person. But with the Holiday kit you get 2 tickets, 2 drinks, and a smores kit. Also, make sure you plan this out because the tickets can sell out quick. For more info and tickets go here
The Bobby Hotel Rooftop Bar. This is not a family activity obviously, because it is a rooftop bar. But if you get a date night you need to check this place out! There are heated igloos that you can sit in.
Here is a fun Christmas checklist for you to save and see what all you completed this Holiday season! Just hold down the picture to save it on your phone!
I hope you have the most wonderful Christmas ever with your family. I am so lucky to have the best audience that reads and invests in my blog posts!
Merry Christmas from my family to yours,
