I have been a huge fan of hair extensions for 3 almost 4 years now. I wear them every single day to create the fullness and length that I want. The hair extensions I use and highly recommend are the seamless weft by Luxy Hair. You can shop them here. I am wearing color Dirty Blonde and they match my blonde perfect.
You would be surprised how many people have no clue that I wear hair extensions. There are several reasons why I choose clip ins over the ones that you can get professionally installed at the salon. When you go to the salon they have several different ways off applying the extension to your hair. Some people get “tape in extensions” done by a professional. Tape in hair extensions are thin tape wefts, 1 inch wide pre-taped hair wefts, that get “taped-in” in between your own hair in “sandwich” like bonds.
Main reason I don’t care for tape ins:
You can only style your hair in limited ways. You can’t do a lot of fancy braids with them. Now if you get keratin fused ones then you can because the weft is a lot smaller.
It damages your hair. I have seen several friends that have damage from keratin or tape in extensions. I know one of my friends had a chunk of her hair fall out.
They are way more expensive then clip ins. I guess the price ranges from where you go but they can be around $400-$600.
The tape ins can fall out. One of my friends told me the funniest story about her tape in falling out when she was downtown!! So funny!! I laughed until I cried.
What do I love/not love about clip in hair extensions:
They are $300 for a set and I can make the set last 3 years. So it’s a way more affordable option for me.
They add a ton of fullness to my hair. I have thick hair but it adds length and gives it great volume.
The seamless weft is worth the investment because it is so much more comfortable on my head. But sometimes the wefts can get uncomfortable, it just depends how well you place them.
If you are unsure about a color you can always email the stylist and they will be super quick to color match you. All you have to do is send an unfiltered pic of your hair.
You can see them if you don’t place them right. I have gotten so use to wearing them so I place them in the perfect spots. But I have been doing this for a really long time.
It takes loner to get ready in the morning. If you had the tape in extensions they would just act like your own hair so you wouldn’t have to take them in and out every day.
Not sure how to apply clip in extensions? Watch this!
If your hair is short don’t be afraid to try hair extensions. The best way to blend them is with curling your real hair well! You would be surprised how well they can look. I have long hair but I like to add extensions for fullness.
At the end of the day, I owe all my awesome amazing hair styles to my clip ins!! I wouldn’t achieve any of my hairstyles without them. They are the peanut butter to my jelly!! Okay, that was silly.
